List of cameras that use the following film: 120
120
Kodak launched 120 roll film in 1901 together with the Brownie No. 2, a cheap box camera which gave eight exposures of 2-1/4 by 3-1/4 inches per roll. The film is roughly 6cm wide, has an opaque paper backing and is wound onto a spool, enabling amateurs to load it in daylight without needing a darkroom. For the next fifty years it remained a standard in snapshot photography and was used in a large number of Brownie box cameras and folding Kodaks. When families switched to 35mm and cartridge films after the 1950s, 120 became the standard medium format film and was popular in twin-lens reflex cameras as well as in professional models such as the Rolleiflex and Hasselblad, with common frame sizes of 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7 and 6x9cm. It has never been discontinued and new 120 emulsions are still being produced by Kodak, Ilford (Harman) and other companies.
